Jerry Steele
Jerry R. Steele, 80, of Saint Marys, died 4:33 P.M. Monday, April 28, 2025, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 4, 1944, the son of Ralph and Helen (Roberts) Steele.
He married Cathy Whited on November 15, 1969, and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2007.
He is survived by his son, Brian (Marlene) Steele of Saint Marys; by his grandchildren: Courtney (Matthew) Gabringer of Cincinnati; Dustin Steele of Bowling Green, Ohio. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Cathy, and by three sisters, Carole Miller, Portia Phillips and Marjorie Brodbeck.
Jerry was a 1961 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He was a retired truck driver and over the years had driven for Beatrice Foods, Jones Motor Company and most recently, Stealth Arms in Montezuma.
He enjoyed firearms and was an excellent pool player. He liked spending time camping with his family and friends, and he was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys.
Funeral rites will be held 12:00 Noon on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Mary Miller, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-6 P.M. Sunday and from 10:00-12:00 noon on Monday at the funeral home.
