Rose Post
Rose Ann "Rosie" Post, age 87, of Celina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 27, 1938, in Fort Recovery, to the late Aloys and Cleopha (Boeke) Schoenherr.
Rosie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Richard L. Post, whom she married on February 7, 1959; her children, Cindy (Tim) Hemmelgarn of Coldwater, Deb (Bill) Wenning of Celina, Chuck (Kim) Post of Celina, Laurie (Carl) Muhlenkamp of Portland, Sue (Dave) Reinhart of Shelbyville, Indiana, and Lisa Post of Celina; her 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, with two on the way; her sister, Irene Fullenkamp of Portland and Roseann Schoenherr of St. Paul Minnesota; her in-laws, Don (Mary Ann) Post of Coldwater, and Mary Margaret Post of Celina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her siblings, Imelda (Richard) Heckman, Joe (Joan) Schoenherr, Anna (Bill) Post, Vincent (Marjorie) Schoenherr, Roman Schoenherr, and Louis (Birt) Schoenherr; her infant siblings, Marietta and Victor; her brother-in-law, Martin Fullenkamp; and her in-laws, Urban (Opal) Post, Bill (Anna) Post, Ralph (Yvonne) Post, Alice Marie (Urban) Grevenkamp, Bob (Lucille) Post, Tom (Ann) Post, and Harold Post.
Rosie was a 1956 graduate of St. Henry High School. Rosie devoted her life to nurturing her family and playing an integral role in the operation of their family farm. She embraced the challenges of farm life with grace and determination, unafraid to get her hands dirty, whether it was driving tractors or managing the day-to-day operations as the bookkeeper.
Rosie's spirit shone brightly as a 4-H Advisor for many years with the Wabash Whipper Snippers, guiding and inspiring the next generation with her wisdom and passion for youth development. As a devoted member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, she participated in the Ladies Sodality, fostering a sense of community and faith among her fellow parishioners.
Outside of her countless contributions, Rosie found joy in her creative pursuits, such as sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She lovingly crafted blankets and clothing for her children and grandchildren, creating cherished heirlooms that will be passed down through generations.
Known for her vibrant personality and sass, Rosie brought joy and laughter to all who crossed her path. Her playful spirit and knack for friendly banter will be fondly remembered, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Guests may visit with Rosie's family on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Memorial contributions may be given to EverHeart Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway Street, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
