Robert Droesch
Robert W. Droesch, age 79, of St. Henry, died Monday, April 21, 2025, at his home.
He was born May 4, 1945, in Dayton to the late Joseph & Leona (Rosenbeck) Droesch. On September 28, 1968, he married Shirley (Brunswick) Droesch. Shirley & Robert were married for over 56 years, and she survives at their home in St. Henry.
Robert's surviving family includes his four daughters: Deborah and David Cliffel of Nashville, TN; Kimberly Droesch of Greenville; Karen Droesch of Greenville; and Jennifer and Rocco Dominick of Decatur, IL. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Vincent Dominick, Allison Cliffel, Jacob Dominick, and Joseph Dominick.
Other surviving family members include his siblings, Cyril & Mary Ann Droesch of St. Henry, Marita Staugler of Coldwater, Jerry Droesch of Coldwater, Margie Meiring of Piqua, and in-laws: Nick Hess of Coldwater, Melvin Brunswick Jr of Ft. Recovery, Gerald & Carol Heitkamp of Coldwater, and Kevin Brunswick of Ft. Recovery.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws: Eugene & Janet Droesch, Janice Hess, Kathy Droesch, Ernest Staugler, Elaine Brunswick, and his father and mother-in-law, Melvin & Mildred Brunswick.
Robert was a proud lifelong resident of St. Henry and was deeply devoted to his community. He was an avid sports fan cheering for the St. Henry Redskins and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Robert was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
A man of quiet determination and community spirit, Robert was instrumental in the establishment of the first pool and park in St. Henry. He was proud to contribute to building a place for St. Henry families to gather and enjoy.
Robert owned and operated Droesch Antenna Service, and also worked for many years at New Idea and Bender Electric, where he was known for his work ethic and reliability. He proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard. Robert was a member of the St. Henry American Legion, as well as the Coldwater VFW.
He enjoyed taking long walks and spending time with his family. A skilled woodworker, he found joy in building and creating with his hands, always happy in his workshop. Robert also loved a good card game, whether with family or friends. His ornery sense of humor and competitive spirit made every gathering memorable.
Robert's life was marked by dedication to God, to his family, his work, and his country. He will be remembered for his kind heart and his craftsmanship. His loving presence will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at St. Henry Catholic Church. Following the funeral mass, burial with military honors will take place in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 PM Friday, April 25, and 9 to 9:30 AM Saturday, April 26, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
