David McDermitt
David McDermitt, 71, of Saint Marys, died 6:34 Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born July 24, 1953, in Saint Marys, the son of Donald and Clara (Clausing) McDermitt.
He is survived by his siblings: Kathleen Lunz of Celina, OH; Thomas (Pat) McDermitt of Celina, OH; by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dave was a 1971 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He retired from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and worked maintaining Grand Lake St. Marys. He operated "Hoedag" the dredge for many years and was well known in the community. He enjoyed fishing on the East Bank and talking to his many friends. He grew up attending Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Saint Marys.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4 - 7 P.M. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys.
