Genevieve Watson
Genevieve Watson, age 85 of Celina, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the Otterbein St. Marys SeniorLife Community. She was born on March 19, 1940 to the late Rufus and Ida (Johnson) Thacker in Hindman, Kentucky. On February 6, 1959, she married Earl Watson who passed away on May 9, 1988.
She is survived by her loving children Earlene Wolfe of Celina, Ronnie Watson of Celina, and Jeff (Kelli) Watson of Celina. she is also survived by her beloved grandchildren; Aaron (Danielle) Wolfe, Andrea (Eric) Bergman, Brittany Schwarck and Nathan Heppeard, Keaten Watson, Grant Watson, great grandchildren; Amelia Wolfe, Meredith Wolfe, Joslyn Cable, Harper Cable, Braxton Cable, Baker Heppeard, Mila Heppeard and Ivy Heppeard, siblings Keaton (Carolyn) Thacker of Springfield, Hans Thacker of Loveland, Bufford (Teeny) Thacker of St. Paris, Edsel (Carol) Thacker of Beavercreek.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter Darlene Watson, siblings Virginia Stephens, Bee (Micky) Hall, and sister-in-law Wilma Thacker.
Genevieve loved her children and grandchildren; family was everything to her. She was a nurse's aide at the Mercer County Home for 44 years. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid collector of Precious Moments. She loved traveling and was the family historian.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Benjamin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 3:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 6, 2025, and an hour before services on Monday at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Council on Aging 217 Riley St. Celina, OH 45822. Condolences may be shared with the Watson family online at LehmanDzendzelFH.com.
