Robert Cook
Robert "Cookie" Cook, age 86, of Celina, died on Sunday, March 30th, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born June 20, 1938, in Rockford, to the late Grant Sr. & Lena (Snyder) Cook. On June 14, 1958, Bob married Cinda L. (Laffin) Cook, who still survives.
He is survived by his children: Lisa Eskew of Dayton, Tess (Dave) Fleck of Cumming, GA, and Michelle (Rob) Homan of Maria Stein; 4 grandchildren: Olivia (Michael) Thomas of Durham, NC, Isaiah (Blair) Fleck of Fayetteville, NC, Sophia Homan of Maria Stein, and Spencer (Emily) Homan of McCartyville; 4 great-grandchildren: Eliana and Mariana Thomas and Stella and Cecilia Fleck; siblings: Sally Conley (John) Wannemacher of Troy, Rebecca (Dan) Dumbauld of Zionsville, IN, and Elizabeth Frushour of Bowling Green; in-laws: Mary Alice Cook of Sidney, Sharon Cook of Columbus, Jean Cook of Dothan, AL, and Cathy Cook of Napoleon; Dan Osterloh of Celina, Pam Laffin of Celina, Gloria Laffin of Rockford, and Trude Laffin of Celina.
He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Rosalyn Cook, who passed away August 4, 1938; son-in-law, Thomas Eskew; siblings and in-laws: Grant Jr. & Betty Cook, Denny "Mike" Cook, Carl & Dorothy Cook, William "Clark" Cook, Don Cook, Benjamin Cook, Kathryn & Robert Crider, and Jack Conley; Jannis Fisher Osterloh & Dale Fisher, Darrel "Doc" Laffin, and Dennis Laffin; and his father-in-law and mother- in-law: Dwight "Jack" & Minnie (Brehm) Laffin.
Bob was a 1958 graduate of Celina High School, and had worked as a Salesman for McKirnan Bros. for 49 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Country Church of Rockford. He loved spending time with his family. Bob spent 66 years married to the love of his life, Cinda. He adored his daughters and beloved grandchildren. You could always find Bob near the sweets or with a Smarties pack in his pocket. He never knew a stranger, as everyone he met became a dear friend.
A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 5th, at St. Paul's Country Church of Rockford, with Pastor Mike Husted, officiating. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.
Family and Friends may call at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, April 4th, and an hour before Services on Saturday, at St. Paul's Country Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: EverHeart Hospice or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
