Lucas Obringer
Lucas Benjamin Obringer, 48, of Charlottesville, Virginia died on January 12, 2025.
Born July 9, 1976 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of Jane and Ronald Obringer of Mendon, Ohio. Lucas was a man who would have been an environmental activist, destroying man-made dams and freeing rivers. Instead, he tended to children, microorganisms, the bonds of community, and the slow work of restoration. He lived lightly on the earth. He loved good beer and live music. He will be greatly missed by those that loved him.
Lucas is survived by his wife Alexandra Amorin; his two children, Greta and Javier of Charlottesville, Virginia; his parents; his brother David Obringer (Brigitte Klotzek) and nieces Katryanna and Clara of Ashland, Ohio; as well as a numerous extended family and many dear friends.
Special thank you to Hospice of the Piedmont for incredible care and to Lucas and Alex's large and loving community that kept them afloat during the worst time of their lives.
A memorial will be held in the spring with smaller gatherings over the course of the next few weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the "Secure A Bright Future for Greta and Javi" fund on the Go Fund Me website. https://gofund.me/f0003e44.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.abettercremation.org.
