Kay Kruse
Kay M. Kruse, age 84, of St. Marys, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Vancrest of St. Marys.
She was born on November 12, 1939, in St. Marys to the late Francis W. and Glee N. (Chivington) Kruse.
Kay is survived by many beloved cousins who cherished her dearly.
A proud 1957 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, Kay showcased her passion for music as a talented saxophonist in the Marching Band. Her love for music continued throughout her life, particularly in her role as choir director at Grace United Methodist Church in St. Marys. There, she shared her musical gifts, playing the piano alongside her mother, Glee, on the organ during worship services. Most recently, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Spencerville, Ohio.
Kay dedicated 30 years to the GC Murphy Company in St. Marys and later enjoyed a fulfilling 23-year career at Walmart in Celina. Beyond her professional life, she was a devoted caregiver for her mother, Glee, and found joy in crafting, gardening, reading, and singing. Kay's deep faith and devotion to Jesus were evident in all she did, enriching the lives of those around her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Cisco Funeral Home in St. Marys, officiated by her cousins, Rev. David Chivington and Rev. Gary Rode. The family will welcome friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
