* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

William Byer
William "Jack" Byer, age 82, of Coldwater, OH, passed peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Gardens of St. Henry.
He was born May 4, 1942, in Rockford to the late William Sr. & Marie (Haas) Byer. On August 9, 1975, in Coldwater, he married Jane (Kahlig) Byer and she survives him in Coldwater.
He is survived by his children, Jake & Jeana Byer of Coldwater and Jill & Dave Evers of Portland; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and in-laws, Ken & Betty Kahlig, Steve Kahlig, Virgil & Jean Kahlig, Diane & Chip Otten, Carole & Ken Schmitmeyer, Dale & Carla Kahlig, Dan & Sheila Kahlig, Leonard & Gayle Kahlig, Eric & Teresa Kahlig, and Marylin Kahlig.
He is preceded in death by a grandchild, Harrison Evers, a brother, Ken & Jane Byer, a sister, Rosemary & Walter Piper, and in-laws, Ralph & Dorothy Kahlig, Frank Kahlig, and Linda Darr.
Jack worked for New Idea for 38 years and was a member of the United Steel Workers Association. He loved his family, car shows, and watching the many activities of his grandchildren. He was an amazing dad, grandpa and great grandpa.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, at noon at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9AM until the start of the service. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
