Jean Brackman
Jean Brackman, age 76, of Coldwater, Ohio, died on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Elmwood Assisted Living Center in New Bremen.
She was born June 15, 1948 in Celina, Ohio to the late, Roman & Rosemary (Hoying) Saalman. On December 27, 1969 in Philothea, she married Herbert Brackman, and he survives her in Coldwater.
  She is survived by two children, Liza & John Curp of Largo, Florida, and Joe Brackman & Chad Anderson of Cincinnati, grandchildren Seth, Wren, Reilly, and Addison, and siblings and in-laws, Joyce & Neal Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Jackie & Britt Bray of Dayton, Gary Saalman of Columbus, Linda Brackman of Coldwater, Sharon Fesmier of Mansfield, Kathy & Lavern Moeller of Coldwater, Don & Judy Brackman of Lima, Dan & Denise Brackman of Coldwater, Ken & Cathy Brackman of Coldwater, Jim & Brenda Brackman of Findlay, Tom & Deb Brackman of New Bremen, and Chris & Eileen Brackman of St. Henry and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Grant, a sister, Marilyn Freytag, a brother, Joe Saalman, and in-laws, Marvin Brackman, Ray Fesmier.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Ann's Ladies Sodality, and a longtime CCD teacher. Jean retired from Coldwater Schools after 37 years of teaching. She also worked at the Coldwater Library for many years and belonged to the University Women's Club. She enjoyed reading, baking and playing the piano. Jean loved caring for her grandchildren and all the time she spent with them.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Philothea, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coldwater Public Library.
