Evelyn Eilerman
Evelyn Catherine (Bohman) Eilerman, age 89, of Louis Street, Fort Loramie, Ohio, passed away peacefully of natural causes at her residence early Saturday morning, July 13, 2024, just one day short of her 90th birthday. She was born July 14, 1934, in Philothea, Ohio, to the late Joseph & Mary (Osterloh) Bohman. On August 25, 1956, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Egypt, Evelyn married Anthony R. Eilerman who preceded her in death on September 29, 2019.
Surviving are two of three children, Charles & Lisa Eilerman of Kettering, Lisa & Andrew Sommer of Anna and Jim Eilerman (dec.); five grandchildren: Erin and Dan Salter, Nicole Kuck, Baylee and Reilly Sommer along with three great-grandchildren, Ethan Salter, Lincoln and Everleigh Kuck, all anticipating an additional, soon to arrive, great-grandson; five siblings: Velma Mescher of Coldwater, Luella Prenger of Coldwater, Norman & Lorena Bohman of Maria Stein, Dorothy Barlage of Minster, Joan Wuebker of Minster and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie Eilerman of Fort Loramie and Vernon Eilerman of Minster along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Rita & Urban Buening as well as several brothers & sisters-in law: Bud Mescher, Greg Prenger, Vernon Barlage, Fritz Wuebker, Luetta & Ray Pleiman, Adolph & Verona Eilerman, Albert & Marie Eilerman, Paul & Vic Eilerman, Teckala & Urban Bergman, Verona & Ben Schemmel, Mary & Lawrence Kuether, Bertha & Harold Wenning, John Eilerman, Vera Eilerman and (infant) Alfred Eilerman.
Mrs. Eilerman was a dedicated homemaker and farmwife. Years ago, she had also worked for nearly 12 years at Wilson Health Hospital in Dietary. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Ann's Ladies Sodality and the St. Mary's Red Hat Line Dancing Club. She also volunteered at Heritage Manor Nursing center and the Sidney Soup Kitchen. Evelyn enjoyed following her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities as well as in recent years, playing chair volleyball. She was also very talented at sewing, knitting, and crocheting.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2024, at St. Michael Church with Rev. John Tonkin and Deacon Paul Timmerman presiding. Family and friends may call Wednesday, 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Thursday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Research, American Diabetes Association or charities of choice. Private condolences may be expressed at the gehretfuneralhome.com website.
