Delores Lennartz
Delores Rose Lennartz passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on April 8, 1943 at Gibbons Hospital in Celina, Ohio, and was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Romilda Siefring, brother Richard Siefring, and brother-in-law Joseph Schmitmeyer.
She is survived by her loving husband Robert, children Steven Lennartz (Janalee), Gregory Lennartz (Heather), Cynthia Vollmer (Robert), Patrick Lennartz (Crystal), Jason Lennartz (Jennifer), 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, five sisters, and one brother.
Delores grew up in Burkettsville and graduated from St. Henry High School in 1961. She married Robert Lennartz on May 9, 1962 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Burkettsville, and they recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.
After spending their first two years of marriage in Atlanta, Georgia while her husband served in the United States Army, Huber Heights, Ohio became her home for 35 years, where Delores and Robert raised their family. Later, they moved to Vandalia for 22 years, and most recently home was Springboro, Ohio. She spent 20 years working as a Medical Records specialist at Walnut Creek Nursing Home, where she enjoyed her career. She was always proud of her work, and was highly regarded by all who worked with her
Family was the greatest source of joy for Delores. She loved spending time and watching the activities of her grandchildren. She was also thrilled with the arrival of her first great-grandchild just over a year ago. The highlight of Delores' week for over 40 years was her visit with Teresa, her hairdresser. She rarely missed a week, and everyone knew not to interfere with her salon time.
The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia, Ohio, with a visitation one hour prior to the mass (10-11 a.m) at the church. Fr. Greg Konerman, will officiate. The burial time is pending at the Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
