* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Vera Schmidt
Vera L. Schmidt, age 91, of Celina, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 3, 2024 at 4:35 pm.
She was born March 8, 1933 in Auglaize County to the late Raleigh and Flora (Lutterbein) Warner. On August 20, 1955 she married Guy H. Schmidt and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2020, they were together for 65 wonderful years.
Vera was blessed with three children, Julie (Ken) Ford of Lima, Jill (Bill) Cook of Celina, and Gary Schmidt who preceded her in death. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Josh (Stephanie Oskey) Ford, Ashley (Jeffrey) Rosebrock, Lee (Ashley) Cook, Kelsey (Tom) Carver, Mindy Cook; thirteen great grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Jackson, Delaney, Guy, Riley, Trenton, Everleigh, Nora, Annie, Beau, Reagan and Kennedy; sister-in law and brother-in law, Margorie (Larry) Durkee, St. Marys; as well as many nieces & nephews and great nieces & great nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Wilber (Jean) Warner, Evelyn (Warren) Heinfeld and Edwin Warner in infancy.
Vera graduated from New Bremen High School in 1951 and the Lima Memorial School of Nursing in 1954. She worked as an RN at Lima Memorial and the former Gibbons Hospital in Celina. She was also a school nurse for the Celina City Schools for 25 years.
After retirement, Vera volunteered at Celina Area Visiting Nurses and several other service organizations. She and Guy enjoyed traveling in the US and abroad enjoying God's beauty. She also loved biking, reading, doing embroidery and most of all following her grandchildren and great grandchildren in their numerous activities. She was an avid fan of the Celina Bulldogs, Cincinnati Reds and Bengals and OSU football and basketball.
Vera was a member of the Celina First Church of God and the Lima Memorial Hospital Alumnae Association.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina with Pastor Craig Flack officiating; where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm before the service at the funeral home.
Private graveside services will be held at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to CALL Food Pantry or the Celina First Church of God.
