  CELINA - City councilors on Monday night learned the police department is sponsoring a free community event aimed at teaching people how to keep themselves and their children safe from myriad dangers lurking online.
They also moved to enter into an agreement with Ohio Department of Natural Resources for a $50,000 reimbursable grant to get an urban tree program off the ground. [More]

FORT RECOVERY - St. Henry's Evan Bowers held Fort Recovery to four baserunners and no runs in its final five turns at-bat.
But the two runs he allowed in the first inning held up for the Indians.
Caden Homan hit a two-run double, Rex Leverette took away a potential game-tying hit in right field, and Alex Dues shut out the Redskins for a 2-0 win in a Midwest Athletic Conference baseball game at the LeFevre Baseball/Softball Complex on Tuesday. [More]

CELINA - Lake Facilities Authority on Tuesday morning signed off on a $490,000 sale agreement for 16.5-acres of land near Grand Lake St. Marys State Park.
CELINA - A Coldwater man was indicted last week on terrorism charges in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
Thomas L. Sparklin, 39, was indicted on one count of making a terroristic threat, a third-degree felony; and one count of inducing panic, a first-degree misdemeanor.
COLDWATER - A group of citizens took aim at the appearance of Coldwater Memorial Park at Monday night's regular village council meeting, asserting it's been on the decline the last few years.
NEW BREMEN- School board members on Tuesday hired a handful of teachers and recommended a list of seniors for graduation.
Sixty seniors are set to receive their diplomas on May 19 with commencement set for 2:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium, superintendent Jason Schrader said.
Ohio's unemployment rate climbed slightly to 3.8%, and area counties saw an uptick in joblessness in March.
Nevertheless, Mercer County once again had the lowest unemployment rate in the state in March.
Indians sweep Redskins
ST. HENRY - After a sluggish start, Fort Recovery picked up the pace over the final four innings.
Trailing 8-4 after three, the Indians got hot and earned a 14-9 victory over St. Henry in Midwest Athletic Conference softball action on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at the Wally Post Athletic Complex.

Grand Lake Fishing Report
I hope everyone enjoyed the peeks of sun that we've had in the past few days. Living in Ohio, we have to appreciate the five-minute windows of warmth in March and April. The lake level is starting to drop a little and warming each day. Signs of spring are here.
