Orpha Hinton
Orpha J. Hinton, age 88, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on March 21, 2024 at Otterbien St. Marys Senior Life Community.
She was born on September 27, 1935 in Coldwater to the late Lawrence and June (Kerns) Brookhart. On October 9, 1954 she married Roland L. Hinton and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2020.
Other survivors include two sons, Kent (Dawn) Hinton and Kris (Cindy) Hinton, both of Celina; three sisters-in-law, Eileen Brookhart, Montezuma, Marcietta Brookhart, Celina and Margie Brookhart, Celina; twelve grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessica) Hinton, Celina, Jason (April) Hinton, Indianapolis, Indiana, Joshua Hinton, Delaware, Ohio, Jared (Casey) Hinton, Celina, Rachel (Steve) Kremer, Montezuma, Jordan (Emily) Hinton, Celina, Jantzen (Julia) Hinton, Celina, Joseph (Cate) Hinton, Celina, Elaine Hinton, Celina, Mary (Ryan) Guggenbiller, Coldwater, Tyler (Steph) Hinton, Celina and Kyle (Shana) Hinton, Bryant, Indiana; 27 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by six brothers, Dane (Betty) Brookhart, Gordon (Lee) Brookhart, Bryce Brookhart, Leon Brookhart, Merl Brookhart and Rex Brookhart; one sister, Emily (Tom) Osterholt; a granddaughter; and a great grandson.
Orpha was a 1953 graduate of Coldwater High School. She retired in 1995 after working for 23 years at JC Penny's in Celina in the HR Department.
She was an active member of Celina Bethany Church in Celina. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, shopping, traveling and going to flea markets. She was a devoted wife, mother, a fun-loving grandmother and had many great friends. She will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation will take place at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, March 27, 2024 in Celina Bethany Church, 416 E. Wayne St, Celina, Ohio with Rev. Matt Overman officiating, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
