Marie Meyer
Marie J. Meyer, 79, of Saint Marys, died Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at her residence.
She was born June 8, 1944, in Lima, the daughter of Leonard and Mary Elizabeth (Klaus) Meyer.
She is survived by her sister, Jeannie Meyer of St. Marys; and by her brother, Lucian (Linda) Meyer of Wapakoneta. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents; by her siblings Christopher Meyer, Michael Meyer, John Meyer, Frank Meyer and Paul Meyer.
Marie was a 1962 graduate of Delphos St. John High School and the Art Institute of Chicago. Marie was the co-owner of Spring Flowers in Saint Marys. She started the business in 1976, and she dedicated her life to serving her customers. She was a free spirit who valued honesty and integrity in her work and friendships; she spoke out against hypocrisy and pompous attitudes and you always knew where she stood on any issue. Above all, she wanted things to be beautiful and meaningful. She loved working alongside her sister, Jeannie and her brother, Michael at the flower shop, and engaging in great conversation. At her core, she was a soft romantic who came to battle with the harsh realities of daily life; flowers and gardening were a great antidote to that for Marie.
Funeral rites for Marie will be held 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, St. Marys, the Rev. Rhonda Hainer, officiant.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memories and condolences may be sent to Marie's family via Millerfuneralhomes.net.
