Anthony Geise
Anthony Bernard Geise Jr., age 93, of Greenback Road, Fort Loramie, passed away peacefully of natural causes Monday evening, February 12, 2024, at Fair Haven Shelby County Home in Sidney, Ohio.
He was born July 30, 1930, in McCartyville, Ohio, to the late Anthony Sr. & Elizabeth (Siegel) Geise. On October 24, 1964, at St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry, Tony married Ann Marie (Delzeith) Geise who preceded him in death on January 21, 2022.
Surviving are two children, Mark A. Geise of Sidney and Cheryl & Michael Wade of Anna; two grandchildren, Samantha Wade and Zachary & Lauren Wade along with three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Lincoln and Vivian Wade; three sisters-in-law, Irene Geise of Hamilton, Charlotte Geise of Fairview, Tenn., and Karen Geise of Minster as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by eight siblings: Ray & Dorothy Geise, Ed & Mildred Geise, Mary & Carl Seger, Victor Geise, Leonard & Martha Geise, Donald Sr. & Margaret Geise, Fred Geise and Kenneth Geise; as well as several sisters & brothers-in-law: Francis Monnin, Rita & Russell Walter, Alvera & Wilmer Denning, Nicholas Delzeith, John & Myra Delzeith, Richard & Dorothy Delzeith, Cletus & Gladys Delzeith, Sylvester & Adeline Delzeith and Cyril & Eileen Delzeith.
Mr. Geise was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. In 1992, he retired from the Stolle Corporation in Sidney. Tony was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Fort Loramie American Legion Post #355 where he had been active in the firing squad for many years. In his leisure, "June" especially enjoyed clay bird shooting matches at Walk-Up Country Club.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2024, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Stephen Mondiek presiding. Interment services with military honors will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Fort Loramie Rescue Squad or charities of choice.
