* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

John Smith
John W. Smith, age 94, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Celina Manor.
He was born May 6, 1929 in Celina to the late George and Freda (Regedanz) Smith. On November 5, 1966 he married Carolyn Sue (Adams) Smith and she preceded him in death on January 17, 2024.
Survivors include three sons, Clinton Smith, Celina and Daniel (Lisa) Smith, Celina and Andrew J. (Holly) Smith, Celina; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Smith, Celina; seven grandchildren, Dalton, Logan, Payton, Carly, Richard, Roland and Brooke; and a brother, Don (Marilyn) Smith, Rockford.
He is also preceded in death by his son, Doug Smith; and a sister, Margaret (Paul) Fahncke.
John was a 1947 graduate of Celina High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked his entire life as a self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township in Rockford, Celina VFW Post #5713, the Farm Bureau and the Holstein Association. John was hard-working and enjoyed hunting, fishing, participating in the Mercer County Fair and spending time on the lake in Michigan. He loved his family and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10:30 am at St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township, 9009 State Route 118, Rockford, Ohio 45882, with Pastor Adam Poe officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at Buck Cemetery in Celina.
Memorial contributions can be made in John's name to St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township.
