* WHERE...St. Marys River at Rockford.
* WHEN...Until Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 12.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

* WHERE...Portions of Indiana, including the following counties, Dearborn, Fayette, Franklin, Ripley, Union and Wayne and Ohio, including the following counties, Adams, Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Hardin, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Logan, Madison, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby, Union and Warren.
* WHEN...From 7 PM EDT this evening through Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rain will impact the area overnight. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts. The heavy rain combined with saturated ground will lead to potential flash flooding.

Elmer Kuess
Elmer Kuess, age 91, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Gardens at Celina.
He was born the son of the late Roman and Justina (Evers) Kuess on July 17, 1932 in Chickasaw, Ohio. On September 10, 1955 he married Irma A. Muhlenkamp, who died May 5, 1996.
He is survived by his seven children; Judith (Jerry) Dudte of Loudonville, Marjorie (William) Sell of Celina, Gerald (Susan) Kuess of Celina, Barbara (Kevin) Walls of Celina, Teresa (Scott) Mello of Cincinnati, Jacquelyn (Don) Herman of Lancaster, PA, Lorraine (Hud) Baker of Celina. He also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Irene (Paul) Heckman of Texas and two sisters-in-law Gladys Kuess of Coldwater and Esther Kuess of Chickasaw.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Elmer is preceded in death by three grandchildren Garrett and Hunter Kuess and Samuel Sell, his brothers Ernest Kuess and Lavern Kuess and three sisters and brothers-in-law: Dorothy (Clarence) Tuente, Mildred (Ed) Prenger and Dolores (Alvin) Muhlenkamp, and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Paul and Juanita (Muhlenkamp) Buening, Ernie Muhlenkamp, Elaine Carlisle, and Clete and LouAnn (Muhlenkamp) Knoth.
Elmer proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years during the Korean War. He was formerly employed at the Mersman Brothers Table Company in Celina and worked for New Idea in Coldwater for twenty-five years. He was the owner and operator of The Bottle 'n Keg in Celina until it closed in 2009. Elmer also enjoyed remodeling homes and rental properties in the Celina area. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, The Fraternal Order of Eagles #1291, and Moose Lodge #1473. Elmer was also a proud member of the Steel Workers Union and a union steward for several years. He was also a past Grand Knight for Knights of Columbus Council #1800.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Jon Tonkin officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina, with military honors provided by the Celina American Legion Post #210 and the Celina Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1753.
Friends and family may call at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024 and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.
