* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Grable Cheek
Grable Cheek, 74, of Mendon passed away on August 29, 2023 at Divine Nursing and Rehab at Shane Hill, Rockford, Ohio.
He was born on December 04, 1948, in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Oakley "Charlie" Cheek and Della (Helton) Cheek.
Grable retired from Rea Magnet Wire in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a maintenance technician for several years. He dearly loved the Minnesota Vikings, BBqing, his dog Sadie, and his many cats.
Surviving are Grable's sons, Rodney (Faye) Cheek, and Brent (Jen) Cheek, and his step-son, Sean (Jenny) Kennedy; two brothers, Carson (Jane) Cheek and Rusty (Tammy) Cheek; three sisters, Peggy (Jim) Garwood, Marylou (John) Archer, and Shirley (Kenny) Miller; two grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Cheek.
Memorial services will be held 1:30 pm, Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home, 111 W. Third Street, Rockford, OH 45882 with Pastor Tom Brunstrup officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 3750 US-33 Rockford, OH 45882.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Grable`s memory may be sent to the Van Wert County Humane Society, 550 Fox Road, Van Wert, OH 45891.
