Area man sentenced

By Abigail Miller
CELINA - A Celina man was sentenced to nearly five years in prison on charges including tampering with evidence and drug possession in Mercer County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday afternoon.
Kyle K. K. Klosterman, 35, was sentenced to 59 months incarceration on two counts of third-degree felony tampering with evidence, one count of fifth-degree possession of drugs and one count of fourth-degree felony failure to appear. He previously pled guilty to the charges.
On or about June 6, Klosterman was indicted with one count of third-degree felony tampering with evidence. At the time of the indictment, he was serving community control sanctions on the previous charges of possession of drugs, failure to appear and tampering with evidence.
"Statistics show that people who continue to commit crimes, and you have a history of criminal convictions and have not responded in the past, continue to commit the same conduct," said Judge Jeffery Ingraham. "It seems like anything that the court has attempted to provide for you, you have basically chosen to do things your own way."
The court added that prison sentences for Klosterman's crimes are not only appropriate but necessary to protect the public and prevent him from committing more crimes.
Klosterman was sentenced to three consecutive terms with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitations and Corrections: 18 months incarceration on one count of felony tampering with evidence; 29 months incarceration combined on count two of tampering with evidence and one count of possession of drugs; and 12 months incarceration on one count of failure to appear.
Due to the sentence being just shy of five years, Klosterman is eligible for judicial release after six months.
