* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Leslie Smith
Leslie "Les" Eugene Smith, age 72 of Celina, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born on June 15, 1950 to the late Raymond Smith and Patricia (McBride) Moon in Marion, Indiana. On November 29, 2012, he married Shelly Flanagan who survives in Celina.
He is also survived by his siblings Ronald A. (Tina) Smith of Celina, Shirley Smith of Marion, IN, Linda Moon of Marion, IN, Rodney Moon of Marion, IN, Paula (Bruce) Fager of Marion, IN, Ed Roberts of Van Wert, Rick Roberts of Cape Coral, FL, Robin Smith of Celina, nephews Jacob (Hayley) Smith, Riley (Cassie) Smith, Matthew Fager, niece Tara (Adam) Bilimek, two great nephews and one great niece.
He is preceded in death by his father Raymond and Patty (White) Smith, mother Patricia and John Moon, and his brother-in-law James Smith.
Les graduated from Marion High School with the class of 1968. He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam conflict. He was formerly employed at Shelly Construction where he retired in 2013. He was a member of Ohio Labor Local #329, and a life member of the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713. Les enjoyed tending to his farm in Kentucky where he took care of his horses and cows.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Brosher officiating. Military Honors will follow his service at the funeral home, being provided by the Celina American Legion Post #210 and Celina V.F.W. Post #5713. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. on Monday at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home. The Smith family would like all attendees to dress casually in honor of Les.
Memorial contributions may be made out to the Mercer County Cancer Association 218 S. Main St. Celina, Ohio 45822.
