Jon Albers
Jon Kent Albers, 87, of St. Marys, OH went to his Heavenly home 10:40 a.m. Sunday May 28, 2023 at Vancrest of St. Marys, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 5, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Walter and Jeannette (Depenbrock) Albers.
Survivors include: daughter Elizabeth (Ron) Albers-Nagel of St. Marys, OH; daughter Tori (Scott) Fallin of Shiloh, IL; daughter Susan (Craig) Drummond of St. Marys, OH; son Jon Albers of St. Marys, OH; daughter Tina (John) Youngs of St. Marys, OH; 11 grandchildren: Jordan Albers-Nagel, Jevin Nagel, Isabel Nagel, Olivia Pribbanow, Malia Fallin, Grace Fallin, Eva Youngs, Abigail Youngs, John Youngs, Austin Drummond, Clayton Drummond; 2 great-grandchildren: Willow Miranda, Jonah Drummond; former wife Evialene "Eve" Albers of St. Marys, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents Walter and Jeannette Albers; infant son William Allen Albers (February 3, 1966).
He was a graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta, OH (Class of 1954). A veteran of the United States Navy, he proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was proudly employed by the Leroi CompAir, Inc. in Sidney, OH for many years.
Jon was fond of animals, especially his pet cat "Bummy". Friendly and outgoing, he liked meeting and getting to know people, giving gifts and had a witty sense of humor. He enjoyed listening to Christian music and listening to Christian messages on television and reading Christian literature. Jon loved the Lord deeply. He was also fascinated with Studebaker automobiles. More than anything else, he treasured the time that he spent with his family.
Public visitation 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys.
Private family services will follow. Burial, with graveside military honors, will take place at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to either International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) or Auglaize Co. Humane Society in Jon's memory.
