Roman Baumer
Roman C. Baumer, age 91 of Minster, Ohio, died at 5:00 AM on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Heritage Manor, Minster, Ohio.
He was born on July 2, 1931 in Minster, Ohio to the late Ben G. & Alice (Hoying) Baumer. He married Joan Rump on July 31, 1954 in St. Augustine Church, Minster, Ohio and she survives in Minster.
He is also survived by children: Deb & Scott Smith, Pinedale, WY, Tom & Robin Baumer, Spring City, TN, daughter-in-law Cathy Baumer, Minster, grandchildren: JR & Rebekah Baumer, Jason & Nikki Baumer, Stephanie & Tim Stueve, Candance & Kevin Meyers, Sam Cornia, Matt Smith, Allie & Logan Dawson, 14 great grandchildren, sister Viola Clausen, Dayton, brother Marvin & Connie Baumer, North Royalton.
He was preceded in death by son Ronald Baumer, brothers & sisters: Mary Ann & Edward Gelhaus, Elmer & Virginia Baumer, Victor & Mary Ann Baumer, Joseph & Virginia Baumer, brother-in-law: Dave & Dora Rump.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster and the Orphan Society of the church. He was a Corporal of the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Minster American Legion and VFW, Minster F.O.E. 1391. He was a retired firefighter for the Minster Jackson Twp Fire Department, worked as a manager of the Wooden Shoe Restaurant and was former owner of the Dutch Mill. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's activities and was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday, May 19, 2023 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster burial with full military honors to follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster on Thursday, May 18, from 4 to 7 PM and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Minster Jackson Twp Fire Department.
