Joan Hierlolzer
Joan L. Hierlolzer, 93, of St. Marys, died 3:30 P.M. Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Vancrest of St. Marys.
She was born November 17, 1929, in St. Marys, the daughter of Paul and Helen (Makley) Baker. She married Tom Hierholzer on July 12, 1951, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2002.
She is survived by her children: Rose Etter of Centerburg, Ohio; Dave (Tracy) Hierholzer of St. Marys; Tess Elshoff of New Bremen. She is survived by her grandchildren: Andrew (Ashley) Etter; Rachel (Ben) Black; Leslie (Mike) Williams; Bret Elshoff; Hannah Elshoff; Hank Elshoff; Will Elshoff; Heidi Elshoff. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Cecelia Williams; Charlotte Williams; Grant Williams; Harrison Etter; Lucy Etter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her son, Allen Hierholzer; her husband, Tom Hierholzer; her brother, Paul Baker; her son-in-law, Ron Etter.
She was a 1947 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. She was the co-owner of the former Baker Auto in St. Marys, and also Trademark Concepts. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Mothers' Study Group.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. Private family burial rites will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, St. Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to the Joan Hierholzer Scholarship Fund.
