Victoria Gruber
Victoria Lynn "Vicki" Gruber, age 53 of Vandalia, OH passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer.
She was born July 28, 1969, in Portland, IN, the daughter of Eugene and Barbara (Wuebker) Lennartz.
She was a 1987 graduate of Fort Recovery High School active in band, color guard and many sports excelling in track. She was also a graduate of Sinclair Community College becoming an occupational therapy assistant. Vicki was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and after her breast cancer diagnosis, a member of The Noble Circle. Vicki dearly loved all of her patients whom she cared for over the years. If anyone could make them laugh or smile during their times of difficulty, it was her. She dearly loved the outdoors, especially spending time at her favorite beach, Siesta Key, camping with her family and gardening in her big back yard. Vicki also became an outspoken advocate for metastatic breast cancer research and education. Vicki always put family first and dearly loved her children, their spouses and her animals. She had a close-knit group of friends who always knew her as the "life of the party".
Vicki is survived by her parents; her husband of 32 years Mark Gruber; her children Jesse and wife Heather Gruber of Butler Township, Justin Gruber and fiancé Gracie Engle of Vandalia, Kathryn and husband Tyler Capperelli of Tipp City; 10 sisters and brothers Amy (Steve) Wendel, Dan (Theresa) Lennartz, Todd (Lisa) Lennartz, Nick Lennartz all of Fort Recovery, Tony (Elasha) Lennartz, Dunkirk, IN, Kathy (Kyle) Schoenherr, Matt (Janelle) Lennartz, Vandalia, Bill (Ambie) Lennartz, New Bremen, Sara (Brad) Evers, St Henry & David (Ashley) Lennartz, Portland; many nieces, nephews and relatives and many, many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 10:00am at St Christopher Catholic Church 435 E. National Road Vandalia with Fr John Tonkin officiating.
The family will receive friends at the St Christopher Catholic church on Wednesday from 3 to 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to METAvivor Research and Support Inc or to Ohio Hospice of Dayton in Vicki's memory.
If you must send flowers, they may be sent to St Christopher Catholic church before 3pm on Wednesday.
