Gladys Stroh
Gladys M. Stroh, 100, of Saint Marys, died 9:25 A.M. Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Vancrest of Saint Marys Nursing Home.
She was born March 28, 1922, in Minster, Ohio, the daughter of Albert and Rose Marie (Schroeder) Gephart.
She married Robert Stroh on April 15, 1944, in Concord, California and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1997.
She is survived by her five children: Robert Niles (Joan) Stroh of Waco, Texas; Susan Ann (Brad) Schamp of Archdale, North Carolina; Stephen (Lisa) Stroh of Saint Marys; Cynthia Klosterman of Saint Marys; David (Lisa) Stroh of Hilliard. She is survived by her 18 grandchildren: Scott (Cindy) Hand; Carrie Flinders; Stephanie (Jon) Kollstedt; Joshua (Anne) Kienitz; Matthew (Brittany) Stroh; Adriane (Pete Young) Owens; Nicole (Thomas) Smith; Sarah (Daniel) Green; Charles Owens, III; Meghan (Ben) Salmon; Jennifer (Jason) Shell; Robb Dorsten; Bill Geeslin; Sara (Trevor) Sterling; Rachel Rupert; Andrew Stroh; Kyla Stroh; Brian Stroh. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and by one brother, Wallace Gephart.
Gladys was a graduate of Minster High School. Prior to WWII, she had worked at Newsweek in Dayton and later at the Evening Leader. She retired from the Saint Marys Chamber of Commerce. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Altar Society of the church. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, going on casino trips, reading, going on walks and out to eat with family and friends. She will be remembered for her warm, friendly personality and her kindness to others.
Funeral rites will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Deacon Marty Brown, officiant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Monday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the funeral rites on Tuesday. Memorial gifts may be given to the Friends of Holy Rosary School, and condolences may be sent to Gladys' family via Millerfuneralhomes.net.
