* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Wayne Hemmelgarn
Wayne A. Hemmelgarn, age 54, of Carthagena, died peacefully surrounded by family, on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at his home.
He was born January 24, 1969, in Coldwater to Roman & Marceil (Garke) Hemmelgarn. On September 4, 1993, he married Kelly (McMillion) Hemmelgarn, and she survives in Carthagena.
Also surviving Wayne are his sons, Aaren & Kelsey Hemmelgarn of New Bremen, and Alex Hemmelgarn and fiancé Makayla Hoying of St. Henry, his siblings: Robin Hemmelgarn & Scott Monnin of Russia, and Eric Hemmelgarn of Celina, his father and mother-in-law Kent & Judy McMillion of Gassaway, WV, and in-laws Kip & Jennifer McMillion of Kentucky, and numerous nieces and nephews.
  Wayne was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Carthagena. He graduated from St. Henry High School, and then earned his bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. Wayne worked for Honda for the last 24 years. He loved farming, and enjoyed bee keeping and making honey, as well as making beer and wine. Wayne was an avid gardener and dedicated OSU football fan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Burkettsville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery in Burkettsville.
Friends may call from 3:00pm - 7:00pm on Monday, February 6, or from 9:00am - 9:45am on Tuesday, February 7, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice, or the Animal Protection League of Mercer County.
