Louis C. Fiely
Louis C. Fiely, 92 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday December 23, 2022, at 12:35 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community. Lou was born March 23, 1930, in Auglaize County, Ohio, the son of the late Alfred J. and Anna (Jutte) Fiely.
Lou is survived by his wife of 69 years Margaret R. (VonderHaar) Fiely of Greenville whom he married May 2, 1953; his children and spouses, Susan and Tom Georg of Celina, David and Beth Fiely of Greenville, Ted and Misty Fiely of Troy, and Jane and David Holtgrefe of Cincinnati; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters in law, Robert and Jeanne Fiely of Edmund, Oklahoma, and Linus and Liz Fiely of Auburn, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lou served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp. He worked 10 years as a Fuller Brush man, 30 years at Beasecker Cleaners and 16 years as a courier at Greenville National Bank.
Lou was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; the Greenville V.F.W.; American Legion; Elks; and the Knights of Columbus.
Lou is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers; Eugene, Richard, and Harold Fiely; and his sisters, Luella Harker, Viola Schlarman, Edna Moore, and Ruth Heil.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday December 30, 2022, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church 233 West Third Street, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Fr. Matt Feist Celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Friday December 30, 2022, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brethren Retirement Community Resident Aid Fund.
