Thanksgiving is a holiday known and celebrated for its abundance. Dinner tables often overflow with massive turkeys, vats of mashed potatoes, roasters full of vegetables and desserts as far as the eye can see.

Sheriff investigating violent abuse of calf
CELINA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has asked Celina City Schools officials to teach children empathy for animals following allegations of a local video showing a juvenile abusing a calf.
CELINA - School board members plan to open a discussion on whether to arm select employees as a way to protect students in the event of an active shooter situation.
CELINA - Two people were injured, one of them seriously, and one person was given a citation after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Harrison Road and County Road 219A early Friday morning.

A gang of thieves in 1955-1956 chose a backwoods cabin near Grand Lake as a hideout. Slim, dark-haired Lawrence Stoker, a career criminal, was the gang's leader. Way back in 1941, the then-27-year old Stoker pleaded guilty to kidnapping, armed robbery and auto theft.
