She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, January 3, 1946, the daughter of Nerine Beghtel (née Fousnought) and Glenn Harnishfeger. She is survived by her sons Bentley (Kelli) Hensley of Luttrell, TN, and Bradley Hensley of Ocala, FL; her sister Elaine (Greg) Goldsberry of Fort Wayne, IN and stepsister Judy McCreery of Fort Wayne, IN; her grandchildren Uriah, Joshua, Sarina, Jasmine, Petra, and Elijah; cousin Ruth Weigmann
of Fort Wayne, IN; many other relatives; and a host of friends.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents Nerine and Glenn, her former husband of 25 years, Porter Hensley; her daughter-in-law, Teri Hensley; granddaughter, Jade Hensley; and grandson Kwin Hensley.
She was a former resident of Celina, Ohio, worked at Reynolds and Reynolds and attended Grace Missionary Church in Celina until moving to Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, and later Marathon, Florida. Joann's final earthly home was in Dover, Florida, and she attended Transforming Life Church (Plant City, FL).
Joann loved life, nature, and loving people. She most enjoyed caring for and helping those around her. She also enjoyed her time alone with her Father God, especially while tending her plants and flowers. She truly loved her family and sorrowed at being so far from them so much of the time. That brief time of sorrow will be but a speck of memory in the eternity we will all soon enjoy together.
Affinity Direct Cremation Brandon, Florida, provided cremation services. Transforming Life Church in Plant City, Florida is in charge of her Home-going/Celebration of Life services which will be held on September 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to her church.
