Theodore Crusie
Theodore "Ted" Crusie, 86, of St. Marys, OH died at 4:01 p.m. Tuesday June 21, 2022 at Otterbein - St. Marys.
He was born April 2, 1936 in St. Marys, OH to James and Mary (Lawler) Crusie. On September 24, 1955 at a military base in Texas, he married Jeanette E. Goettemoeller, who died October 26, 2008.
Survivors include: daughter Cindy (Keith) Curtis of St. Marys, OH; son Christopher J. (Susan) Crusie of St. Marys, OH; daughter Michele (Rick) Saintignon of St. Marys, OH; 6 grandchildren: Maria Hoffman, Lisa Curtis, Beth Luthman, Emily Kill, Jon Crusie, Mike Crusie; 13 great-grandchildren; close friend and cousin Jack Lawler of St. Marys, OH; sister-in-law Esther Goettemoeller of St. Rose, OH; sister-in-law Alma Goettemoeller of St. Henry, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents James and Mary Crusie; wife Jeanette Crusie; infant daughter Mary Therese Crusie; infant daughter Stephanie Crusie; infant son John Crusie; infant grandson Andrew Crusie; cousin (and close friend) Jim Lawler; 2nd wife Elizabeth Timmons-Crusie.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1954) and then, proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his time in the military, he became a firefighter for the City of St. Marys. He later retired from a career as a broker in the commercial food industry. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. His favorite pastimes included fishing, playing the organ and listening to music (especially from the Swing Era). Ted Will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday June 24, 2022 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St. Marys, with the Rev. Alexander Witt, celebrant. Burial, with graveside military funeral honors, will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
