Philip Winkler
Philip Keith Winkler, 71, passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2022 while mountain biking with friends in North Carolina.
He was born to John and Joan (Ott) Winkler on April 12, 1951. He graduated from Parkway High School in 1969, received his Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University and Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University.
Phil and Ruth (Kreachbaum) were married on June 16, 1979 and have lived in Florida since 1986 where they both practiced optometry. He is survived by his wife Ruth, children Ian and Dustin, sister Sharon Soliday (H. James Pierce III, M.D.), sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kay and Bill Scott, and cousins Glenda Wampler, Valerie Petit, Deanna Lynn, Karen Schrider Baer and Michelle Shrider Tackett.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home, 111 West First Street, Rockford, Ohio 45882.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home, 111 West First Street, Rockford, Ohio 45882.
A celebration of life reception will be held immediately after the service on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Rockford United Methodist Church, 202 South Franklin Street, Rockford, Ohio 45882.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Philip's memory may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
