Flood Advisory issued May 19 at 7:24PM EDT until May 19 at 10:30PM EDT by NWS Wilmington OH (details ...)

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...The following counties, in west central Ohio, Auglaize, Champaign, Darke, Hardin, Logan, Miami and Shelby.
* WHEN...Until 1030 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 724 PM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Troy, Sidney, Piqua, Bellefontaine, Kenton, Ada, West Milton, Versailles, Covington, Newport, Bradford, Anna, Fort Loramie, Jackson Center, Forest, Russells Point, De Graff, Pleasant Hill, Botkins and Lakeview.

1 killed in morning accident

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP - A Celina man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash that was discovered several hours after it occurred Sunday morning, according to a news release from Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey.

Louis B. Badgett Jr., 57, Celina, was driving his 2002 Chevrolet eastbound on County Road 219A just east of Dicke Road early Sunday morning, according to the release.

Badgett's vehicle reportedly traveled off of the side of the roadway, down into a ditch and out into a field, rolling multiple times before coming to a rest on its top. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.

In the release Grey said it was likely the crash happened several hours before it was reported because of the location of the crash, the car's final resting place and the darkness.

"It would have been hard for anyone to see the vehicle in the field over night," Grey said in the release.

Assisting deputies at the scene were the Montezuma Fire Department, Mercer County Emergency Response Volunteers (MCERV) and Coldwater Emergency Medical Services. This marks the fourth fatal traffic crash in Mercer County this year.
