* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Dave Garke
Dave "Goose" Garke, 62, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in Darke County.
He was born on June 3, 1959, in Coldwater, Ohio, to Ray and Joan (Hilgeford) Garke of St. Henry, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Goose is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda (Eiting) Garke, whom he married on December 12, 1992; their children, Rebecca (Jason) Stover of Celina, Ohio, Ashley Eyink of Troy, Ohio, and Jacob (Melissa) Westerheide of Carthagena, Ohio; his grandchildren, Luka, Graci, Briggs, and Kenner; his siblings, Dennis (Sherry) Garke and Sharon (Jim) Vaughn, all of Fort Recovery; his in-laws, Tim (Kristy) Eiting of New Bremen, Ohio, Vickie (Jeff) Wuebker of McCartyville, Ohio, and Nick Eiting of Anna, Ohio. Goose also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Goose was a 1977 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. He worked for Cooper Farms as a Layer House Serviceman. He loved his job and his clients loved him. Goose took great pride in his attention to detail and dedication to his growers. Recently, Goose was named Cooper Farms Serviceman of the Year for 2022.
Goose was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, archery, and was a Safe Hunter instructor for over 25 years. Goose was a member of the Ohio Progressive Sportsman Club, Pheasants Forever, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Goose loved his family and enjoying spending time with them. He would often set up "hunters camp" in his backyard, and would teach his grandchildren about hunter safety.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery.
A celebration of Goose's life will be held on May 7, 2022, beginning at 3:00 PM and going into the evening at the Ohio Progressive Sportsman Club, 740 St. Peter Road, Fort Recovery, Ohio 45846.
Memorial contributions may be given to The Dawes Arboretum, 7770 Jacksontown Road, Newark, Ohio, 43056.
