Kaylee Freund

New Bremen

5-7 Senior Forward

14.0 PPG, 7.8 Rebounds, 3.1 Steals, 47% shooting

Freund helped the Cardinals battle down to the wire in the Midwest Athletic Conference basketball standings, earning a chance to force a shared title in the final regular season game against New Knoxville. Freund was a forward in a guard's body as she used her jumping ability to pull down rebounds and offered ball-handling ability for the Cardinals along with strong defense.

After earning second team all-MAC honors as a junior, Freund added nearly three points per game and stepped into the leadership role left by 2021 grad Elli Roetgerman.

Freund scored 19 points against Parkway in the sectional final, but the Cardinals came up short. New Bremen never reached a district tournament in Freund's career, losing in the sectional finals four years in a row.

After the season, Freund earned first team all-MAC honors.
