Mary Stevenson-Taaouira
Mary Margaret (Anderson) Miracle Stevenson-Taaouira, 78, of Minster, OH passed away on Jan 15, 2022 after a short battle with brain cancer.
She was born on July 27, 1943 in Celina, Ohio to the late Ray and Avenelle (Richey) Anderson of Rockford, OH.
Mary is survived, loved, remembered, and deeply missed by her children, Johnny Lee (Lisa) Miracle, Paula (Terry) Hensley, Thomas (Robin) Miracle, Johnna Mackie, Valentina (Robert Balserak) McNamara, William "B.J." (Heather) Miracle, and Matthew (Misti) Miracle; her cousin Georgia (Pat) Craft (who was like a sister), along with her niece Shelli Anderson.
Mary was preceded in death by her half brother, Eugene Anderson. She greatly enjoyed her 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was a 1961 graduate of Parkway High School in Rockford, where she played clarinet in the band. Mary went on to attend Columbus College of Art and Design on a Scholarship. Mary was a gracious, gifted, and free spirited woman who loved to sing, create art, and cook amazing meals. She had a passion for many things. She was a member the Mensa Writers Club. She was a homemaker, portrait artist, Interior Design consultant for two large department stores, prize-winning wedding cake decorator, fire safety council representative, belly dancer and instructor, long haul semi-truck driver, and finally, she retired after 10 years as a cook for the Auglaize County Correctional Center.
Mom loved the excitement and chaos of family gatherings, large or small. This often included "honorary" family and friends from across the country. It was her joy. She had a passion for baking and cooking, and many of us kids and grandkids have not quite figured out how to reduce her recipes to account for having less people around. Mom encouraged us all to explore our own way in life. Not so much by words, but through her own life adventures. She showed us that forgiveness and acceptance of all people is the highest form of love. Somehow she managed to keep us all in line, taught us lessons from her "school of hard knocks"; many which we now pass down to our children. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all for living life to the fullest and not letting anything get in her way. She had the fearless heart of a lioness. We will miss her contagious smile, her sage advice, her wit and tenacity. We will certainly miss watching Jeopardy! with her every evening at 7:30.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to: House of Bread Food Pantry, Dayton, OH https://houseofbread.org/donate
A family graveside memorial gathering will be held at 3pm on May 7th at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford OH.
Please join us at a Celebration of Life all-day open house at 12089 Granville Ave, Minster OH starting with lunch at 12pm, May 8th.
