* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Stammen, Luebke advance to swim finals

Minster's Lucas Stammen and St. Marys' Griffin Luebke were the only area swimmers to earn spots in this evening's finals round of the Division II boys and girls state swimming championships at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.

Stammen posted the 10th-fastest time in the preliminary heats of the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.70. That allows Stammen to swim in the B-Final to decide ninth through 16th place in the standings.

Luebke snared the 16th fastest time in the 100 breaststroke, finishing 0.01 seconds ahead of the 17th-fastest finisher to earn a B-Final spot.

In other boys' action, St. Marys' 200 medley relay team of Reese Triplett, Jaxton Spees, Luebke and Marcus McClain finished 22nd in prelims with a time of 1:43.10. Triplett, Luebke, McClain then teamed with Connor Milner to swim the 200 freestyle relay, finishing 24th with a time of 1:32.39.

Triplett and Luebke finished 23rd and 24th, respectively, in the individual medley preliminaries. Triplett finished in 2:04.91 with Luebke hitting the wall at 2:07.77.

New Bremen's Andy Jiang was 22nd in the prelims of the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.41.

The Coldwater girls' 200 medley relay of Carlee Goodwin, Heidi Bruns, Rachel Wenning and Izzy Byer finished 19th in the prelims with a time of 1:53.83, just 0.80 seconds out of the 16th spot that would have earned them a spot in the B-Final.

New Bremen's Annie Jiang finished 21st in the prelims of the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.94.

The swimming finals start tonight at 5 p.m.
