Judith Rentz
Judith Ann (Klosterman) Rentz, 77, of Coldwater, died Friday, February 18, 2022, at Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater.
She was born August 7, 1944, on her family farm near Montezuma, Ohio, to the late Walter and Alvina (Ranly) Klosterman.
Judy is survived by her husband James M. Rentz of Coldwater; three children: Sheri (Nick) Hanes of Greenville, Doug (Alicia) Rentz of Urbana and Nick (Gretchen) Rentz of Minster; seven grandchildren and step grandchildren: Dylan Platfoot, Derek (Casey) Platfoot, Hailey Platfoot, Emma Rentz, Xavier Rentz, Reed Hanes and Morgan Hanes; five siblings: Earl (Eileen) Klosterman, Victor (Pat) Klosterman, Connie (Jim) Vail, Luke (Renee) Klosterman and Gary (Betty) Klosterman and in-laws, Barbara Klosterman, Margaret Klosterman and Connie Klosterman.
She also was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws Tom Klosterman, Sister Maria Klosterman, Mark Klosterman, Robert Klosterman, Patricia Klosterman and Rachael Klosterman.
Judy was a caring mother and grandmother who greeted everyone with a friendly smile. She loved warm days tending to her garden and taking care of her flower beds. Nothing would make Judy's heart leap for joy quite as much as seeing her grandkids. She also loved her many nieces and nephews, and the mutual love between them was a special bond. Judy's whole life was one of love.
Love for her family but also for her friends and anything she put her mind and hands to. Her infectious personality and the love that she had to give was something that people wanted to be close to. Her love also came from a deep place of faith. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Montezuma, where she and Jim were married December 27, 1968. Early in her career, Judy was a staff member at the Center for Neurological Development in Burkettsville serving many in need of neurological therapy. She went on to work at Mercer County Probate Court until retirement and was a dedicated volunteer at Mercer Health Hospital.
Friends and family may visit Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 3 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 10am at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, 715 E. Main Street in Coldwater.
