Donald Siefring
Donald Siefring, age 79, of Celina, died Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born on February 8, 1942 in New Weston, Ohio to the late Aloys & Hilda (Homan) Siefring. On January 4, 1969 he married Donna Moorman at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, and she survives in Celina.
Donald is also survived by sons, Brett & Christa Siefring of Kettering, and Chett & Sarah Siefring of Medina; grandchildren, Corinne, Charlotte, Elliot, and Sophia; Siblings, Phyllis & Carl Kunk of Kountze, TX, Jerry & Rita Siefring of Burkettsville, Sharon & Clete Schoenline of Ridgeville, IN, Jane & Mark Fleck of St. Sebastian, and Nancy & John Pohlman of Maria Stein; and in-laws, Carol Siefring-Sheppard of Burkettsville, Kay Siefring of Greenville, Jim & Elaine Moorman of Chickasaw, Jane Clune of Coldwater, Sam & Lilly Moorman of St. Henry, Donna & Don Siefring of Celina, Randy Moorman of St. Marys, Ted & Martha Moorman of Coldwater, Sandy & Eugene Smart of Celina, Dorothy & Ken Tobin of Coldwater, Pat & Holly Moorman of Tifton, Georgia, Chris & Mary Agnes Moorman of St. Henry, Cathy & Rick Homan of Ft. Recovery, Tim & Susan Moorman of Coldwater, Tina & Steve Lamott of Seven Mile, Nita & Dave Scudder of Hamilton, Dave & Joan Moorman of Maria Stein.
He is preceded in death by a son, Clint Siefring, Mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anthony & Pauline Moorman; brothers, Paul, Roger and Tom Siefring; and brothers-in-law Carl Kunk, Paul Clune, Robert Moorman, Terry Moorman and 3 infant brothers.
Don treasured his time spent with his wife Donna, his sons and their families, especially his grandchildren; Corinne, Charlotte, Elliot and Sophia who were a true joy for him. He owned and operated DSC Concrete and Construction for over 40 years and took great pride in his work. He always said he poured concrete, not cement. He was a member of the International Silo Assoc., Silo Singers of America, Ohio National Guard, Greenville Unit, and Coldwater Eagles. He made numerous trips volunteering at St. John Bosco Orphanage in Mandeville, Jamaica. Once covid hit, he spent many hours doing paint by number projects and delighted in sharing his finished pictures with friends and family. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, gardening, playing cards, cooking over an open fire, and drinking coffee with his buddies. Don loved the game of baseball and was a longtime Cincinnati Reds fan. He had a great sense of humor and was willing to lend a hand to those in need. He was a man of strong faith and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Montezuma.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, January 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 13 from 3-8PM and on Friday from 9-10AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
