Donald McCormick
Donald Ray McCormick, 72, of St. Marys, OH, died 8:42 a.m. Thursday November 18, 2021 at his residence.
He was born July 9. 1949 in Robinson, IL to Donald and Velma (Shook) McCormick.
On August 1, 1970 he married Lucreda "Creedy" Prater, who died March 18, 2019.
He is survived by: son Daniel (Michelle) McCormick of St. Marys, OH; son Durand McCormick of Celina, OH; 4 grandchildren: Kelsie McCormick, Albany McCormick, Kayla McCormick, Maci McCormick; sister Carolyn (George) Gay of St. Marys, OH; sister Marilyn (Terry) Slone of St. Marys, OH; sister-in-law Felsie Cassidy of Sidney, OH; sister-in-law Patricia (Dave) Kohlhorst of St. Marys, OH; sister-in-law Bonnie (Ronnie) Slone of St. Marys, OH; sister-in-law Lydia (Gary) Pennington of Sidney, OH; brother-in-law Kennth Rupert of Spencerville, OH; brother-in-law Dennis Fisher of St. Marys, OH.
Preceded in death by: wife Lucreda "Creedy" McCormick; daughter Dawn Marie McCormick; daughter-in-law Heather McCormick; sister Sally Jane McCormick; parents Donald and Velma McCormick, sister-in-law Mildred Rupert; sister-in-law Janice Fay Foos; sister-in-law Thelma Fisher; brother-in-law Quinton Prater.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1967).
Donnie spent the majority of his career in the grocery business, having worked for Marsh's Grocery, Brodbeck's Market and Chief Supermarket, all in St. Marys. He later retired from Lear Fire Equipment Co. in St. Marys.
His favorite pastimes included traveling, golfing and attending area festivals and fairs. Donnie was a real "people person" who truly valued his family and friends.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 24, 2021 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road in St. Marys. Pastor Robert Sweeney will officiate the services. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 5 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
