David Bruns
David W. Bruns age 74 of Coldwater, Ohio died Monday October 18, 2021 at his home in Coldwater.
He was born September 19, 1947 in St. Marys, Ohio to the late William and Rosemary (Youngs) Bruns. He married Cindy Wise on December 15, 1979 and she survives in Coldwater.
He is also survived by children Erica & Edwin Tucker, Bay Village, Ohio and Aaron David Bruns, Ypsilanti, Michigan, grandson Austin David Tucker, brother Dan Bruns, Celina, mother-in-law Edna Wise, St. Marys, in-laws: Deb & Bob Barhorst, Minster, Chip & Missy Wise, St. Marys, Wendy & Mike Flynn, New Bremen and numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Doug Bruns and father-in-law Clifford Wise.
Dave was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. He was a 1965 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and Bowling Green State University in 1969. He then served in the US Army during Vietnam until 1972 and went to Ohio Northern University from 1972 to 1975 where he received his law degree. He practiced law from 1975 until 2021. He was a member of the Mercer County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, the Coldwater Eagles, the Celina Moose, the Coldwater American Legion, VFW and the NRA. Dave enjoyed hunting, playing pool, golfing, fishing, but most of all driving his truck and listening to sports especially the Bengals and the Reds.
Friends may call at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater from 2 PM to 7 PM on Friday, October 22, 2021 and from 9 to 10 AM Monday, October 25.
Dave's wishes were to be cremated before the mass and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Monday October 25, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors will be held at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Everheart Hospice.
