Germaine Steinbrunner
Germaine Ann Steinbrunner, age 95, of Montezuma, died on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born August 22, 1926, in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Charles & Catherine (Herman) Staugler. On July 24, 1947, she married Anthony Steinbrunner and he passed away November 1, 2005.
Germaine is survived by eight sons: Charley & Deb Steinbrunner of St. Marys, Tony Steinbrunner of Elida, Dick & Linda Steinbrunner of Montezuma, Dan & Sue Steinbrunner of Celina, Dennis & Becky Steinbrunner of St. Marys, Ken & Tracy Steinbrunner of Wapakoneta, Tom Steinbrunner of Montezuma, Greg & Jenny Steinbrunner of Celina, and one daughter, Sandy & Ray Schott of Montezuma. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Jessica & Andy Rammel, Jodi & Bryan Trego, Shawn & Karen Steinbrunner, Tim & Katie Steinbrunner, Aaron & Ashley Steinbrunner, Scott & Amy Steinbrunner, Todd & Melissa Steinbrunner, Jeremy & Arlyn Steinbrunner, Jennifer & John Contreras, Josh & Yvonne Steinbrunner, Blake & Alyssa Steinbrunner, Kyle & Lauren Schott, Kellen & Lauren Schott, Shannon & Doug Moeller, Taylor & Kurt Gibson, and Jordan Steinbrunner, 47 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and one on the way, siblings and in-laws: Joan Staugler, Clarence Staugler, Ernie & Rita Staugler all of Coldwater, Carolyn Staugler of Montezuma, Katharine Taylor of St. Marys, and Mary Ann Steinbrunner of Coldwater.
In addition to her parents and husband, Germaine is preceded in death by a grandson, David Steinbrunner, siblings and in-laws: Helen Staugler, Mary Lillian Staugler, Ernestine Staugler, Irene & Ralph Meinerding, Kathleen & Bernard Muhlenkamp, Herbert Staugler, Paul & Irene Staugler, William Staugler, Charles Staugler, Robert Staugler, Ralph Staugler, Margie Staugler, Joan & Linus Mescher, Donald Steinbrunner, Henry & Mary Steinbrunner, Victor & Ginny Steinbrunner, John Steinbrunner, Elva Steinbrunner, Lauretta Steinbrunner, Evelyn & Paul Moser, Betty & Elmer Bertke, Margaret & Marion Gibbs, Rose Ann & Joyce Smitley, Phyllis Jean Steinbrunner, Clara Steinbrunner, and Harry Taylor.
Germaine was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma, the Christian Mother's, and the Ladies Sodality at the church; she also sang in the church and funeral choirs. She grew up in Coldwater and was a graduate of Coldwater High School, class of 1944. As a young woman she worked at the Buckeye Apparel, and Pet Milk Companies in Coldwater. Germaine was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed yodeling, writing out cards to many people, and was an avid listener to WCSM Radio, calling in many birthdays to be announced on the air and sharing with her list of grandchildren and friends when she heard there was a school delay or cancellation. Germaine enjoyed rooting for the Green Bay Packers, and loved dancing to Elvis music, especially "Proud Mary."
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma. A private family burial will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery, Montezuma.
Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00pm on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
