Wilma Albers
Wilma J. Albers, age 86, of Celina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 22, 2021, at Celina Manor.
She was born July 25, 1935, in St. Rose, the only daughter of the late Raymond and Josephine (Evers) Holdheide.
Wilma and Wilfred Albers were married on April 11, 1959, and he survives, along with their children: Janet Zumberger of Yorkshire, Jerry (Margie) Albers of Celina, Rosann (Tony Pleiman) Albers of Celina, Elaine (Rick) Ahrns of New Bremen, and Dale (Karen) Albers of Celina; nine grandchildren: Nicole (Nick) Dirksen, Adam Zumberger, Ryan Zumberger, Sarah Albers, Brian (Allison) Ahrns, Lindsey Ahrns, Kaitlyn (Joe) Schwieterman, Nathan Albers, and Matthew Albers; and nine great grandchildren: Patrick, Lillian, Jack, Lauren, Claire and Sylas Dirksen, Isabelle and John Paul Ahrns, and Thomas Schwieterman. She is also survived by four brothers: Jerome (Velma) Holdheide of Houston, Werner (JoAnn) Holdheide of St. Henry, and Paul (Rosalie) Holdheide and Leonard (Marilyn) Holdheide of Maria Stein; a sister-in-law, Joan Holdheide of Fort Loramie; and Wilfred's brothers & sisters: Norbert (Jeanette) Albers of Celina, Sister Regina Albers of Dayton, Irene (Urban) Gehret of Versailles, and Tony (Martha) Albers of Minster.
Wilma was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Allen Albers, on June 16, 1967; brothers: Ralph Holdheide and Alvin Holdheide; son-in-law, David Zumberger; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Albers.
Wilma attended St. Rose School. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Celina and its Altar Rosary Society. A Homemaker, Wilma liked gardening, canning, cooking, quilting, and doing embroidery. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips they had taken to Hawaii, Alaska, and Germany.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 27, at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina. Fr. Tom Brenberger, C.PP.S., will preside. The Mass will be live-streamed on the church's website at https://celina-ic.org/live, with the video to be accessible online for 30 days following the services. Burial will take place at St. Marys Cemetery in Celina.
Calling Hours are 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 26, and from 9:30 - 10:20 a.m. on Monday, September 27, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the Donor's Choice.
