* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

James Beckett
James "Jim" R. Beckett, 93, of St. Marys, OH died at 12:25 a.m. Sunday September 12, 2021 at Vancrest of St. Marys.
He was born in Summit Co., OH to Raymond and Dorothy (Simmons) Beckett. On August 29, 1948 in St. Marys, OH he married Geraldine Allen, who survives. Together, they recently celebrated 73 years of marriage.
Also survived by: 5 children: Sally Wiliams, Lynne (Jack) Carmean, Michael (Susan) Beckett, James (Susan) Beckett II, Barbara (Rodney) Fisher, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, Siblings: Donald (Jean) Beckett, Dorothy (Stan) Hirschfeld, Helen Dersham, Pat (Kenny) Briggs
Preceded in death by: parents Raymond and Dorothy Beckett; granddaughter Alicia Fisher; brother Richard Beckett; brother Ed Beckett; brother Jack Beckett; sister Janet Spencer
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1946). He was the owner/operator of several service stations in St. Marys, retiring in 1992.
After retirement, he subsequently worked for Speckman Automotive in St. Marys for a number of years. He was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, Rotary International, Mercer Lodge F & AM #121; Antioch Temple (Ancient & Accepted Order of the Mystic Shrine) and St. Marys Outing Club (Idlewild).
His favorite pastimes included golfing and bowling. He was a supporter of St. Marys Roughriders, Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds sports programs. More than anything else, he treasured the time spent with his family.
Private family services will be held.
