* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:40 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall slowly this afternoon, falling below flood stage later this evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Jack Wenning
Jack Joseph Wenning, age 73, of Coldwater, died on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born February 7, 1948, in Coldwater, to the late Elden Joseph & Rosemary (Huwer) Wenning. On July 8, 1972, he married Mary Louise (Reichert) in Cassella and she survives.
He is survived by three children, Tanya (Brad) Corso of Columbus, Benjamin (Rebecca) Wenning of Coldwater and Jesse (Amy) Wenning of Columbus; grandchildren Sophia, Elliott, Jacob, Tate, Ty, Emma and Stella. In-laws, Betty Brisch of Egg Harbor, WI, Joe (Diane) Reichert of Ft. Loramie, Margie (John) Buschur of New Weston, Ginny (Mike) Bensman of Minster, John (Bernice) Reichert of Maria Stein, and Jim Wiley of Celina.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Othmar & Lorena (Wynk) Reichert; a sister-in-law Dorothy Wiley and brother-in-law Richard Brisch.
Jack was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, where he was a former lector. He graduated from Holy Cross High School and attended Holy Cross Seminary for one year and graduated from St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN. Jack formerly worked as a carpenter then worked at New Idea, Maria Stein Grain and Kenn-Feld in Coldwater. He was also a lifelong farmer and helped the Coldwater K of C with their annual sweetcorn sales. In retirement Jack enjoyed woodworking, cooking, spending time with his grandchildren and telling jokes.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 9, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 7 PM and on Monday from 9 to 10 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
