* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Jerry Ellis
Jerry W. "Eli" Ellis, age 69, of Mendon, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Celina Manor.
He was born November 2, 1951, in Celina, to the late John Jr. & Joan (Yahn) Ellis. Jerry and Sheryl McMichael were married on August 26, 1972, and she survives, along with their three children: Emily (Shawn) Barnett of Rockford, Rachael (Paul) Reichardt of West Liberty and Justin (Summer) Ellis of Mendon.
Jerry leaves behind five beloved grandchildren: Shelby Barnett (fiancé Adam Linn), Autumn Ellis (José Aguilar), John Ellis, Olivia
Reichardt, and Jackson Eli Reichardt, and his brother, Jay (Marjie) Ellis of Mendon. Also surviving are his brothers & sisters-In-law: Galen (Karen) McMichael of Mendon, Rudy (Carol) McMichael of North Richland, Texas, and Laurie McMichael Collender of Middletown, Delaware, and a niece and several nephews: Jason Ellis, Jeremy Ellis, Amy McMichael, Scott McMichael, and Eric McMichael.
  He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Terry Ellis, parents-in-law: Stanley & Minnie Ann (Sharpe) McMichael, brother-in-law, Craig McMichael, and a nephew, Kurt McMichael.
Jerry was a 1970 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys. He retired from Dominion Energy after 39 years of service.
Jerry was a member of the Mendon United Methodist Church, and had attended The Lord's Church in Celina and Mendon First Church of God.
Jerry was very active in the community; he was a member of the Mendon Lions Club, and had served as a volunteer fireman and EMT with the Mendon-Union Fire Department.
Jerry was an avid outdoorsman - golfing, fishing, mowing, riding tractors and motorcycles were favorites. He particularly enjoyed boating and water related activities.
Jerry helped coach all three of the kids' baseball/softball teams when they played ball, and attended the grandkids' sports activities regularly. His most loved activities were spending time with his family, children, and grandkids.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 24, at the Mendon United Methodist Church, with Pastor Rob Glenn and Pastor Don Clinger, officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery.
Calling Hours are 2:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to Services on Thursday, at Mendon United Methodist Church.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mendon-Union Fire Department.
