Victor Eyink
Victor R. Eyink, age 75 of Coldwater, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 17, 2021. He was born on February 7, 1946 in Celina to the late Joseph and Caroline (Heitkamp) Eyink. Vic married the love of his life, Marlene Brunswick on April 25, 1970 in St. Henry and she survives in Coldwater.
He is survived by three children: Elaine (Scott) Bruns of Maria Stein, Ohio, Scott (Marcee) Eyink of Findlay, Ohio, and Brian Eyink of Cumming, Georgia; 6 grandchildren: Kevin, Ashley and Kyle Bruns and Kaitlyn, Emily and Courtney Eyink; Brothers & Sisters: Elmer (Marie) Eyink of Coldwater, Marie Eyink of Cincinnati, Alvina Fox of Westerville and twin sister, Virginia (Michael) Burd of Cincinnati; in-laws: Lavern (Catherine) Brunswick of Versailles, Madonna Bills of Maria Stein, and Maurice (Marlene) Brunswick of Celina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John (Lorraine) Eyink, sister Mildred (Earl) Heckler, sister Rita (Gerald) Buening, brother-in-law Paul Fox, in-laws Norbert and Rosemary (Bergman) Brunswick, brother-in-law Alvin Bills, and a grandson, Brandon Eyink.
Vic graduated from Celina I.C. in 1965. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Celina Moose, and the Coldwater American Legion. He served in the Ohio National Guard for six years. He worked at NCR in Dayton, New Idea, and worked at Reynolds and Reynolds which broke off into Relizon (Workflow One) for over 40 years.
Vic was a master of oak woodworking and spent many hours in his workshop crafting beautiful items to sell from his business Eyink's Country Oak Crafts. He belonged to a men's card club league at the Coldwater American Legion and played many competitive games there with friends. He bowled on a league with his wife for many years at Pla-Mor Lanes Bowling alley.
Vic was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and Cincinnati Bengals fan and never missed watching the games with his wife. He loved gardening and tending to his apple orchard. He really enjoyed fishing in his pond with his grandchildren and playing cards and games with his family. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports and loved attending games. Above all, Vic loved his family and found so much joy in spending time with them.
Mass of Christian Burial following all CDC guidelines will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday April 21, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery, St. Henry. Friends may call from 4-7 pm on Tuesday and 9-10 am on Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
