Willard Rankin
Willard O. "Bill" Rankin, age 96, formerly of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in Springfield, Ohio.
He was born June 5, 1924 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to the late Willard C. and Rita R. (Smith) Rankin. On May 15, 1948 he married Anna May (Hultz) Rankin and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2020.
Other survivors are a son Jack G and his wife Christina Rankin of Troy, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Rankin.
After graduating high school Bill served his country in the United States Army during the WWII era. Bill established and owned Rankin's Store in downtown Celina from May 1955 to July 2002.
He was a member of Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina, Celina VFW Post #5713, Celina American Legion Post #210 and Celina Masonic Lodge #241.
Visitation hours will be held from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
Following the visitation, funeral services will begin at 5:00 pm at the funeral home; masonic membership services and military rites will conclude the funeral service.
Private graveside services will be held at Butler Cemetery in Butler, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.
Attendees are required to follow social distancing and guidelines dictated by the Ohio Department of Health, due to the national concerns of COVID-19. Masks are required by attendees at the visitation and funeral service.
