Robert Kohlhorst
Robert P. Kohlhorst, 96, of St. Marys, OH died 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at his residence.
He was born April 4, 1924 in Lima, OH to Burrell and Irene (Austin) Kohlhorst.
Survivors include: daughter Susan (Justin Braun) Runkle of Wapakoneta, OH; Daughter Bonnie (Rick) Gatlin of Greenville, TN; Daughter Lydia Kohlhorst of St. Marys, OH; Son Tim (Tammy) Kohlhorst of St. Marys, OH; Son Doug (Kim) Kohlhorst of Liberty Center, OH; Son Darrel (June) Kohlhorst of Tennessee; Daughter Debbie Blakley of Georgia; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren (and, another due March 17); Sister Betty Arns of Lima, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents Burrell and Irene Kohlhorst; wife Sylvia (Slone) Kohlhorst; son Robert Darwin Kohlhorst; brother Richard Kohlhorst; sister Carol Ream.
He was a graduate of Lima Senior High School (Class of 1942). A veteran of the United States Army, he proudly served his country during World War II. He had worked in the coal mines of Kentucky, Ford Motor Co. (Lima Engine Plant) and Standard Oil Co. of Ohio. Following retirement, he grew and sold fresh vegetables for many years.
Funeral rites are scheduled to begin 10:00 a.m. Saturday March 6, 2021 at the Wayne Street United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tim Benjamin, officiating. Military funeral honors will be conducted at the conclusion of the services. Private burial will take place at the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton, OH.
Visitation after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
